1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Reel In America handles personal information collected through our website, app, digital passport, challenges, purchases, and communications.
2. Information we collect
Depending on the features you use, we collect:
-
Account information: your name, email address, account identifier, and profile information you provide.
-
Challenge information: your selected challenge, catches, fish species, catch dates, fishing states, trip records, and progress.
-
Submitted media: catch photographs and other content you upload. Uploaded files may contain location or device metadata.
-
Family information: junior angler and family profile details supplied by a parent or guardian.
-

-

[Confirm the actual profile fields, technical information, and tracking tools before publishing.]
3. How we use information
We use information to operate accounts and digital passports; record catches and trips; track challenge progress; review submissions; administer awards and orders; provide support; maintain security; and meet applicable legal obligations.
We use contact information to send account, challenge, order, and service communications. Any optional promotional communications will include a way to unsubscribe.
4. Catch photos and fishing locations
Catch submissions are used to document participation and review challenge progress. Catch records include the fishing state.
Reel In America administrators may access all uploaded photographs and videos to administer the challenge and verify submissions. Participants cannot view other participants’ uploads, and there is no participant gallery. Authorized service providers may access information when needed to operate the service.
Promotional use of an adult participant’s media requires that adult’s separate permission. Promotional use of media showing participants under 18, including ages 13–17, requires separate permission from a parent or legal guardian. This applies to our website, social media, and other marketing materials. Registration, participation, and uploading media do not provide promotional permission.
Avoid including exact fishing locations or other sensitive information in photographs or descriptions unless necessary.
[Confirm whether any maps, profiles, catch records, or photos are publicly visible, and whether photo metadata is removed.]
5. Children and family accounts
Participants ages 13–17 may create and use their own accounts with permission from a parent or legal guardian. Children under 13 must participate through an account created and managed by a parent or legal guardian, who handles submissions on the child’s behalf.
Where required by applicable children’s privacy laws, we must provide parental notice and obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting, using, or disclosing a child’s personal information. Permission to participate does not automatically authorize public promotional use of a child’s image.
Parents and guardians may contact info@reelinamerica.com to request access to or deletion of their child’s information, withdraw consent, or refuse further collection. We may verify the requester’s identity and authority before responding.
We do not require more information from a child than reasonably necessary for participation.
[Describe the verified parental-consent process, information collected about children, and providers receiving that information before publishing.]
6. Service providers and other disclosures
Our website uses Wix. Our app is built with FlutterFlow and uses Google Firebase for account and data services.
We may share information with providers supporting hosting, authentication, storage, communications, payments, and order fulfillment, as needed for those services.
[Confirm and list any additional active providers, including email, payment, analytics, and fulfillment providers.]
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect people or our services, or in connection with a business transfer, subject to applicable protections.
7. Payments and external services
Purchases may be processed by third-party payment or commerce services. Their handling of payment information is governed by their privacy policies.
Links to outside services, including our merchandise store and social platforms, lead to services with their own privacy practices.
[Confirm the checkout provider and whether Reel In America receives or stores any payment-card information.]
8. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website and service providers may use cookies or similar technologies to support functionality, security, preferences, and measurement.
You can manage cookies through available website controls and browser settings. Restricting necessary cookies may affect certain features.
[Confirm which analytics or advertising technologies are enabled and describe the available choices.]
9. Information retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including account administration, challenge verification, order fulfillment, and legal obligations.
Children’s information must not be retained longer than reasonably necessary for its specific purpose. Information no longer needed is deleted according to our retention procedures.
[Confirm retention periods and deletion procedures for accounts, catch photos, children’s information, orders, and backups.]
10. Your choices and requests
Contact info@reelinamerica.com to request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information, or to ask a privacy question.
We may verify your identity before processing a request. Some records may need to be retained for legal, security, or transaction purposes. Deleting information needed for a challenge may affect our ability to maintain your passport or verify completion.
Additional rights may apply depending on where you live.
11. Security
We use safeguards intended to protect personal information. No online service or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Keep your login credentials private and contact us if you suspect unauthorized account access.
12. Policy updates
We may update this policy as our services or privacy practices change. The revised policy will show an updated effective date. We will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required.
